European Consortium Launches Blue Nodules Project

IHC Mining Joins World Ocean Council

IHC Mining, part of Royal IHC (IHC), has become a member of the World Ocean Council (WOC) to add to the growing global industry alliance for “corporate ocean responsibility”, the company annouced. Royal IHC Acquires Majority Stake in Brastec Technologies

Royal IHC has acquired a majority stake in Brazilian-based Brastec Technologies, a designer and builder of tailor-made production lines for the production of umbilicals and flexible pipes.   According to IHC, the agreement fulfils two important elements of its business strategy: a foothold in the important Brazilian market; and the acquisition of Dutch-based SAS Offshore, which was fully owned by Brastec Technologies.   Founded in 2002, Brastec Technologies has built a customer base consisting of suppliers to oil companies, mainly manufacturers of flexible pipes and umbilical cables.

Royal IHC Delivers another Dutch Dredger

On February 18, 2016, Royal IHC delivered the trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Mahury to Baggerbedrijf de Boer – Dutch Dredging. The twin-screw TSHD was built at IHC’s partner shipyard, MTG Dolphin, in Varna, Bulgaria. The Mahury was launched on August 14 and named on October 29, 2015 in Varna. Royal IHC has named and launched the pipelaying vessel, Sapura Rubi, in a ceremony at the company’s shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands.
